Attending our wedding also provides you with a fantastic opportunity to explore the beautiful city of Naples and its surroundings. If you plan to spend some extra time before or after the celebration, we have started to gather some tips to help you make the most of your visit.
How to Arrive
For our guests traveling from Zurich, here are some tips to help you reach Naples. If you need more information, especially about reaching your accommodation, please let us know.
-
Airlines
SWISS and easyJet operate direct flights from Zurich (ZRH) to Naples (NAP). During the summer, there are usually 2-3 flights per day. -
Luggage
Note that easyJet’s ticket prices do not include hand luggage, making their fares comparable to SWISS. -
Booking Tips
It’s recommended to book flights 3 to 6 months in advance, though last-minute deals can also be affordable. For reference, check this screenshot from Google Flights that we took on 27 June 2024 for a stay in Naples from Thursday, 4 July to Monday, 8 July 2024.
-
Route
Take a train from Zurich to Milan, then transfer to a high-speed train to Naples. For the latter, options include Trenitalia Frecciarossa and Italo Treno. -
Pricing
High-speed train ticket prices can vary. Sometimes, first class tickets are similarly priced or even cheaper than economy class. Look out for deals. -
Transfer Time
Allow at least 1 hour for transfers, especially in busy stations like Milan, where delays of 15-30 minutes are common.
-
Recommendation
While driving to Naples is possible, we do not recommend using a car to navigate the city. It’s best to leave your car in a garage and use it only for trips outside Naples.
Where to Stay
The bus pickup point for the event will be at Museo Pignatelli.
For your convenience, we recommend choosing accommodations within a 15-minute walking distance of the pickup point. Public transportation in Naples can be unreliable, and finding taxis at night may be challenging (please note that Uber is not available in the city). Naples offers a wide range of hotels and B&Bs, as shown in this image (the blue icon marks the pickup point).
In addition, the Hotel Exe Majestic, one of the largest hotels in Naples, is offering a special discount for our guests.

- Palazzo Petrucci Pizzeria
- 50 Kalò
What to See
- Take a tour with Withlocals
- Visit the Chiostro di Santa Chiara
- Explore Spacca Napoli
- Discover Napoli Sotterranea – only a few tours in English are available, one recommended time slot is between 14:00-16:00. It’s refreshing during hot days. Booking in advance is advised, but be aware that either way you’ll have to pay on the spot in cash. Alternatively, you can book a tour through GetYourGuide.
- Admire the Cristo Velato – booking and an audio guide are recommended.
- Enjoy the grand Piazza del Plebiscito
- Have a coffee at Caffè Gambrinus (seating can be challenging)
- Explore Naples’ many stairways, such as Calata San Francesco which connects Vomero (uphill) to Via Caracciolo (along the sea).
- Ride the Underground Metro – it’s especially worth visiting two Line 1 stations: Toledo and Università (the latter is Sara’s favorite).
- Consider an alternative to Pompeii: Ercolano
- Enjoy a Kayak tour
- Explore wildlife with K’Nature
